BECAUSE HARDLY ANYTHING WORKS WITHOUT EDI

Hallbergmoos, January 16th, 2020
In the logistics sector, there is still room for improvement in terms of digitalisation, especially regarding data exchange. While Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) has been a (obligatory) standard in the automotive sector for years, many companies in transport logistics still work mainly with paper or e-mail - and thus are missing out on the opportunity to organize their processes faster and more cost-effectively. HÜNGSBERG GmbH was one of the first EDI software providers to develop well-engineered EDI solutions and by now, run by the second generation of owners, has 38 years of experience in this field. Managing Director Tania Hüngsberg-Cengil is certain: "Anyone who operates a well-thought-out EDI data handling system in logistics is able to realize valuable competitive advantages". At LogiMAT 2020, EDI pioneer HÜNGSBERG will be presenting its EDI systems in hall 9 at booth C32.

But: EDI is a matter of trust. The exchange of sensitive data requires a secure system environment, and the basis for this is a secure and professional software as well as an optimal EDI connection. For this purpose, HÜNGSBERG operates an in-house development department at the Hallbergmoos site (north of Munich). The EDI software is programmed by internal IT specialists who have extensive know-how. Thus, HÜNGSBERG guarantees process and data security as well as EDI systems based on the latest technologies and with the corresponding EDI interfaces and EDI converters. Added to this are first-class services, because Hüngsberg considers itself as a provider of solutions: Every customer is supported by a German-speaking team at the site in Hallbergmoos, which can provide competent and experienced assistance in case of problems. Fast reaction times are guaranteed. With over 10,000 EDI applications sold worldwide and as a first mover in this field, Hüngsberg has leading expertise in this special area of business. For decades, HÜNGSBERG EDI software has proven itself successfully in the demanding environment of the automotive industry, but its EDI solutions have also been used effectively in other industries, like logistics, for years.

EDI: a key competence
Electronic data interchange accelerates several processes in logistics - from warehouse management and scheduling to recording the state of shipments. All information on orders, delivery and invoicing can be transmitted directly and fully automatic to the partner. In addition, EDI guarantees more transparency and better planning in shipment processing. Nevertheless, professional EDI systems are not yet very widespread in the retail market and logistics sectors, especially among smaller companies. Managing Director Tania Hüngsberg-Cengil is convinced this is a mistake: "If an EDI solution does not work smoothly, all processes come to a standstill. The result: disgruntled customers, in extreme cases even fines or loss of supplier status". However, standard applications are often not the right solution. HÜNGSBERG relies on professional, flexible EDI software that can be adapted easily and individually. Subcontractors can also be connected to the EDI system via cloud.

Attractive entry-level solution or carefree package - everything is possible
The HÜNGSBERG product portfolio includes EDI applications that are decidedly applicable for use in the logistics sector. Example 1: clearDAX, a communication and conversion software on demand (SaaS) for the translation of standardised business messages from a source to a target format as well as for the data exchange from and to business partners. As no own IT infrastructure is required and the existing ERP system can be used as a user interface, clearDAX is an attractive entry-level solution. Example 2: the client-server solution ediDAX, where the processes can be mapped according to customer. Incoming and outgoing messages are processed completely automatically. ediDAX is modular and therefore well scalable in function and price - the customer buys only what he really needs.

Tania Hüngsberg-Cengil: "We stand for price transparency, customer orientation and state of the art solutions and are convinced that especially companies from the transport industry can benefit from our offer".

During LogiMAT, HÜNGSBERG offers a 20% exhibition discount on all products*. Detailed information is available from the HÜNGSBERG experts in hall 9 at booth C32.
